How to Clear Firefox Search History
Firefox is fast becoming the best web browser. Net users prefer Firefox over Internet Explorer because of all the add ons you can install and it is thought to be more secure and faster to load up web pages.
The problem with all web browsers is that they save your internet history. This may be good in helping us find recent websites we have visited but it can also be a hindrence.
What if you don’t want someone to find the websites you have been visiting in Firefox or Internet Explorer?
You can delete the history of visited websites in Firefox by clicking the tools tab. There is options to clear the history and you may think that your traces are covered.
In fact this is not the case as everytime you visit a website information on your computer is stored including cookies which are small files that are automatically downloaded to your computers hard drive.
These files can easily give away what websites you have visited and when. This is bad news if you want to wipe files or delete history off your hard drive so that family or friends can not find this private information.
The only way you can shred Firefox browsing history for sure is to use a US Military standards software shreeding utility called Privacy Controls.
The software works by scanning your Windows PC in the areas where your files are stored. You can easily wipe any file you want and set up a time each week or day so you can scan and wipe any information you do not want others to see.
